He is magnificent as the Ghost of Christmas Present.   This is from A Noise Within's production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, December 2012. I am here as the Benevolent Gentleman along with the wonderful Jill Hill. I was recently asked to become a Resident Artist with this Equity company here in the L.A. area. A great delight.

This is me as Ghost of Christmas Present. I am riding on a 9 foot contraption sitting on a saddle-like seat. There is a terrific young actor, Kevin, on his knees underneath "driving" me around. It is a terrific production and I'm having a great time.   Again as the Ghost of Christmas Present.   Again as the Benevolent Gentleman after Scrooge's transformation. I am so lucky to be a part of this company.         Alan plays the role of SCRUB in the 2013 performance of The Beaux' Stratagem at A Noise Within theatre.   With the wonderful Ellen Geer and Melora Marshal. And the great Tim Halligan in the production of Royal Family at Theatricum, summer of 2013.   Alan as Oscar Wolff in ROYAL FAMILY at Theatricum, summer of 2013. What a glorious, fun production of a wonderful play. The Barrymores, depicted as the Cavendish Family as played by the magnificent Geer Family. I am a lucky man to be a part of this company.

The full company, Royal Family at Theatricum, summer 2013.   The full company, Royal Family at Theatricum, summer 2013.   Katherine and I starred in Tone Clusters at the wonderful Theatricum Botanicum. (Photo Credit: Ian Flanders)   Katherine and I played Frank and Emily Gulick in Theatricum Botanicum's Tone Clusters. We look puzzled here by the media's questions! (Photo Credit: Chris Sibley)   Another scene from Tone Clusters. We were even featured in the LA Times! (Photo Credit: Chris Sibley)   A scene from Tone Clusters where the Gulicks relive the death of their 14 year old neighbor. Very captivating. (Photo Credit: Chris Sibley)   Frank Gulick (me) gives wife Emily (Katherine James) a pill to cope with the thought of their son being a murderer. This is a scene from Tone Clusters at Theatricum Botanicum. (Photo Credit: Ian Flanders)   Katherine and I had an AMAZING time performing in Tone Clusters. That's us pictured here, starring as Frank and Emily Gulick. Joyce Carol Oates, author of the play, joined us for opening night. Quite a thrill! Here I am as Gloucester with Abby Craden as Igraine in Theatricum Botanicum’s Lear.   Our 2014 production of LEAR at Theatricum. With the magnificent Abby Craden. A brilliant actor of depth, grace, intelligence and beauty. In this transformative production a Queen Lear has 3 sons and I, Gloucester, have 2 daughters. And it works brilliantly. Ellen Geer's concept is magnificent. We learn to see the play in a whole new way. Here I am with my bastard daughter Igraine (Edmund in the original). Trust me, it not only works it is a revelation.   Again in LEAR with my bastard daughter, the magnificent Abby Craden.   Gloucester fears the worst. Betrayed by his daughter, Igraine the bastard.   Blinded by Regan...in this production played by Chris Jones as one of LEAR'S 3 sons. It brings a whole new insight to cruelty, children and their parents and the effects of rage and violence.   Another picture of me as Gloucester in Lear.   EQUIVOCATION at Theatricum Botanicum, Summer 2014. The 5th play of the season, my 3rd. ALL 3 Critic's Picks in the LA Times. What a spectacular play with a wonderful cast and great director. One of the hardest plays I've done in a while. So rewarding to work on such smart and theatrical material.   Another shot from EQUIVOCATION at Theatricum Botanicum, Summer 2014. To be reunited with the brilliant Ted Barton and director Mike Peebler. A talented, wonderful cast. A well deserved Critic's Pick from the LA Times. Great fun!   With the great Jeremy Rabb in FLEA IN HER EAR, Fall 2015 at A Noise Within. What's a girl to do?

A quiet moment before the storm in A FLEA IN HER EAR, Fall 2015 at A Noise Within. What a great fun show.   As Etienne in A FLEA IN HER EAR, Fall 2015 at A Noise Within. What a fantastic soufflé of a show. Great great fun.   I had the pleasure of playing Lord Capulet in the production of ROMEO AND JULIET at A Noise Within. Here I am with the remarkable Amir Abdullah. His performance as Paris is the first time I've seen a production of this show where Juliet has a real alternative to Romeo. She should have gone with this guy. Great actor and a wonderful man.   Again, me as Capulet. This time with the wonderful Christian Barillas as Tybalt. What a wonderful actor. And he is hysterical as Nathan Lane's partner on MODERN FAMILY. The true joy of acting in LA is the mix of film, tv and theater.   This is a wide shot to show the magnificent scenic design of Angela Calin. She did costumes and set for this version, set in an alley way. That is the brilliant Rafael Goldstein as Mercutio, a spectacular actor and man, and Christian again. Production is Spring of 2016 in Pasadena, CA.   Me again with the luminous Donnla Hughes. Ireland's gift to Los Angeles theater. A brilliant and beautiful Juilet. So responsive as an actor. What a joy.
