Alan Blumenfeld is one of the hardest working veteran character actors in Hollywood. His lengthy and detailed Filmography on The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) spans his work for the past three decades.

Alan has been as busy as ever doing film, theatre and television. He appeared in an episode of Castle, which is available to watch on Hulu. He also appeared in an episode of the new Arrested Development for Netflix and an episode of: Parenthood, Shameless, and Murder in the First. His feature film work included Seth Rogen’s recent INTERVIEW, which will be out for Home Video release soon. His film HOT GUYS WITH GUNS is also available on Netflix.

As a company member of Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon for the past 30 years and as a resident artist at A Noise Within for the past 10 in Pasadena, Alan has a continuing presence in the Los Angeles theater scene.

In Pasadena, at A Noise Within, Alan continued as the Ghost of Christmas Present in the 3rd year of CHRISTMAS CAROL.
This past season at Theatricum Botanicum, in Topanga, Alan performed as Gloucester in LEAR, Lavatch in ALL’S WELL and as Nate/Cecil in EQUIVOCATION. All three shows were Critic’s Pix and received critical acclaim. Alan and Katherine had the great pleasure of performing together in a gender bent Romeo and Juliet…Alan as the Nurse and Katherine as Capulet.

If you set your DVR, you can record all of the reruns of Alan’s past film and TV work as they appear on television. Depending on your age, the kinds of shows you like and your depth of dedication to watching movies and television, you may recognize him from any number of shows. Maybe you remember him from the films Tin Men or Righteous Kill, or In Her Shoes; or as a recurring character in the television series Heroes or Brooklyn Bridge. He’s played hundreds of characters one time or another on so many half hour and hour long shows (over 300 guest star roles) as well as movies of the week that it makes him smile to think about your delight when you read the list and recognize your favorite shows of the past and present. He got his start in the theater – and he works on stage constantly. He has appeared on Broadway, in many regional companies, and is currently associated, as mentioned above, in Los Angeles with Theatricum Botanicum, A Noise Within, and South Coast Rep. At South Coast, Alan had the privilege of working with the Tony and Drama Desk award winning director, Pam McKinnon in the new play Marjorie Prime, by Jordan Harrison.
